we recorded some more band practice stuff. wanna hear? :D
saint kilda wedding, our new favorite song, which hurts my hand to play.
pretty saro, the torch song. i'm still not comfortable with how i sound on it, but there you are.
the shetland jig set, it sounds a lot better now. cleaner, brighter, and with extra piano!
also, here's our shiny new website! i'll have better photos to post soon.

check out the raw, unbridled awesomeness i made for dinner last night:

those are marinated portobella caps, stuffed with a mixture of minced garlic, green peppers, scallions, and finely chopped spinach, then topped with a slice of tomato, caramelized onions, and melted cave-aged gouda. they were beyond AWESOME. and i made extras, so that i'd have another one for lunch today, and i totally FORGOT IT IN THE FRIDGE.

so, blue is easily my favorite color. everything in my house is blue. and not a subtle sort of dusty colonial blue, we're talking cookie monster blue. i have a blue area rug and blue pillows and curtains in the living room, blue sheets and pillows and duvet covers in the bedroom, blue rugs and shower curtain and stuff in the bathroom, and until this past weekend, a bright blue kitchen table and blue kitchen towels, napkins, and placemats.
but blue is a bad kitchen color. with all the restaurants and food products i do menus, advertising, and packaging for, i know that blue is a terrible food color. no one wants to eat things that are blue. they want to eat things that are red, and yellow, and orange, and green.
so i'd been sort of wanting to change the kitchen's color scheme to something warmer, and a few weekends ago, found a great cheap orange and yellow rug at CB2. hooray! now to paint the table. over the long weekend, i managed to prime it and put one coat of a great reddish-orangey color down. but i want something more interesting, unique, something more me. so i lifted a leafy decorative pattern i created for a client's menu, and came up with this:

i'll post photos once the project is finished. :)
